Keta Gavasheli
Third Eyelid

1/1

Text

The Kunstverein für Mecklenburg und Vorpommern in Schwerin is pleased to present Third Eyelid, a performance by Keta Gavasheli, at the opening of the exhibition Aperture, monitor, field, mouth, language,. The performance combines text, video and sound in a fragmented performative reading. Drawing on optical instruments, distorted images, the refraction of light and blur, Gavasheli explores how perception is shaped by bodily experiences and memories. The performance is connected to Gavasheli’s installation In the Middle of the Blank Page, which is also on view in the exhibition. Part of the work is a video filmed through a magnifying glass, translating the bodily experience of vertigo and rotational movement into a distorted visual language. The magnifying glass becomes a membrane between the camera and physical reality, simultaneously mediating and transforming perception. The performance will be in English. The admission is free.
