Claudia de la Torre’s ongoing exploration of folding as a transformative gesture begins with pairs of original pages from the French Encyclopædia Universalis, where folded corners create new framings and visual dialogues. Through this simple yet deliberate act, de la Torre recontextualizes the encyclopaedia – a once authoritative vessel of knowledge now rendered obsolete – into singular, reconfigured artifacts. Each pair becomes a compact editorial space in which gesture replaces authorship, and the act of publishing extends beyond the book into the realm of the sculptural.
